Cost sources use different methods and project sizes. A per-foot figure can be misleading when a provider has a minimum charge or the work includes only two small panels. Use the numbers below to plan and test a quote, not to price an unseen property.
What do current sources report?
| Source and date | Published figure | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| HomeAdvisor, June 2026 | $661–$1,871 normal range; $1,232 average | National and method definitions vary |
| Angi, April 2026 | $661–$1,871; $1,232 typical | National and lead-marketplace data |
| Angi method guide, July 2026 | $3–$6 per square foot mudjacking; $5–$25 foam | Wide foam band and no Peoria sample |
| Inch Calculator, 2026 guide | $500–$1,500 typical project | Uses its own national model |
The close HomeAdvisor and Angi ranges should not be treated as two independent Peoria studies. They are a shared planning signal. Final local price depends on the address, provider and scope.
What might common project types cost?
HomeAdvisor’s 2026 guide publishes these national examples:
| Project | Mudjacking planning range | Foam planning range |
|---|---|---|
| 200-square-foot driveway section | $650–$1,300 | $1,500–$3,200 |
| 450-square-foot full driveway | $1,500–$3,000 | $3,200–$7,500 |
| 100-square-foot sidewalk | $320–$650 | $650–$2,700 |
| One garage section | $550–$1,100 | Source says foam may be about twice slurry |
| Full two-car garage | $1,250–$2,700 | Site-specific |
These are not offers from a Peoria contractor. They help identify a quote that needs explanation, not a quote that must match.
Which factors change the address price?
Panel count and minimum charge
A small sidewalk panel still requires travel, setup, drilling, material, patching and cleanup. The minimum visit may matter more than area.
Drop and void
A deeper or wider void can take more material. Ask whether the price includes a fixed material amount, measured quantity or change rule.
Method and product
Mudjacking and polyurethane lifting use distinct materials and equipment. A foam product claim should name the system. A slurry scope should describe the fill.
Access
Rear patios, finished basements, narrow gates, steps, slopes and soft yards can change equipment and hose routing. Ask what access the total assumes.
Related work
Drainage, downspouts, joint sealing, grinding, surface repair, public approval, demolition, replacement and landscaping are separate jobs. A low bid may omit one of them.
How should lifting be compared with replacement?
Compare the same panels and outcome. A replacement total should include demolition, haul-away, base preparation, new concrete, reinforcement or joints, cure time and restoration. A lifting total should include injection, patching, target, water prerequisites and the response if the slab cannot reach target.
Replacement may be clearer when the concrete is badly deteriorated, fragmented, due for utility removal or unable to drain safely after a lift. Lifting can preserve color and surrounding work when the slab remains sound.
How should structural work be priced?
Do not apply flatwork figures to a load-bearing foundation. Slab lifting and underpinning use different systems and professional scopes. If wall, footing, frame or several building systems moved, use the foundation decision guide.
Any structural proposal should identify the assessed cause, supports, design, monitoring, permit role, restoration and written work terms. A broad online number cannot decide building safety.
What quote fields should be normalized?
Ask every provider to price:
- the same panel list;
- current and target elevations;
- material and injection pattern;
- crack and surface limits;
- water and base prerequisites;
- public-edge or permit questions;
- access and protection;
- patches, cleanup and restoration;
- planned use window; and
- exclusions and price-change rules.
Use the method comparison for a side-by-side table.
What should be saved after the visit?
Keep the panel sketch, photos, authority answers, proposal and final changes. Record the provider’s legal name and who is responsible for permits. If the price changes, ask which panel, quantity or related item changed.
Review this guide each year because published prices and source methods change. The current source review date is 5 August 2026.
Build one sample budget
List the panels first. Add the method and target. Then add water work, public approval, sealing and cleanup. Keep a spare line for a measured material change.
Do not add a percentage for “unknowns” with no rule. Ask what fact will change the price and how it will be measured. A second quote should use the same panel list.
Save the source date beside each online range. Save the provider date beside each bid. This keeps a national guide from being mistaken for a current Peoria offer.
Add the tax and permit line, even when it is zero. Add the deposit and final payment dates. A full total should show when each amount is due. Keep proof of each payment. Keep all change notes too.
Check the final invoice
Match each charge to the panel sheet. Mark added material, added work and tax. Ask for a note when the final total differs from the bid.
Save the paid invoice with before and after photos. This creates a useful record for later slab or drainage work. Keep the final panel drawing too.
Frequently asked questions
Can photos provide a fixed price?
No. Photos help with initial routing, but they do not show final geometry, void, access or buried conditions.
Why do foam prices vary so much?
Product, minimum charge, panel size, void, access and source definitions vary. Ask for the actual product and price-change rule.
Is the lowest quote the right one?
Only when it covers the same panels, target and related work. Normalize the scope before comparing totals.
